An Inverse Opal Photonic Crystals Laboratory Guide, with step-by-step procedures for the synthesis of photonic crystals based on macroporous metal oxides, was co-authored by MRSEC graduate student Rick Schroden and Nagalingam Balakrishnan of United Tribes Technical College (Summer Y2000, Y2001). This laboratory guide, now available for download on our Center website, is intended for use by laboratory instructors at tribal colleges, four-year colleges, and universities. Dr. Balakrishnan is promoting the guide within the Tribal College system, and the Center is distributing the guide to its four-year college network.
