Summer 2000 Research Participants

Summer 2000 was the second summer of the U of M MRSEC and its summer research programs. The success of our second summer of operation was very similar to our inaugural year. The U of M MRSEC received funds from the National Science Foundation to create our own Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program. Last year the base of participation came from regional schools in the Midwest. In 2000, we recruited students from all parts of the country. In addition, four students funded by the Multicultural Undergraduate Research Program (MURP) participated in the MRSEC through their MRSEC research mentors.

The summer experience proved to be educational and enjoyable for all participanting, the students, faculty, graduate students and the U of M MRSEC staff. We look forward to much growth and continued success in the future. Thank you to all who participated in summer 2000. It was a pleasure having you take part in our programs.
